Kogi Gets Four New Laws
Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello on Tuesday signed the Bill for an Autonomy for the Judiciary and State Legislature, and three other bills into Law. The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Petra Akinti Onyegbule reported that while assenting to the Bill, Governor Bello said the law would enhance the effective operations of the legislature. Other Bills signed into Law today are: A Bill for a law to make provision for a Contributory Pension Scheme for employees in the Public Service in Kogi State and other matters connected therewith 2018. On this, Governor Bello remarked that his administration inherited a backlog of pensioners claims dating back as far as 15 years. A situation he described as “appalling”. According to His Excellency, a well administered contributory pension scheme will make retirement easier for civil servants so that they can serve their state assured of not having to suffer during retirement.
