Open Letter to the Next Kogi Central Senator | By Otori Ozigi

Image
Let me begin this writeup by acknowledging the fact that only the Almighty God knows the next senator from Kogi central district. Yes! That's the truth. No babalawo can successfully predict who becomes the next senator among the trio of Natasha Akpoti, Alhaji yakubu oseni and Senator Ogembe. If you seek to know where my support lies, I would gladly tell you my support is for Alhaji Yakubu Oseni, but the final decision lies with the kogi central electorates, they are the one who decide who to vote for, my opinion does not really count. In this writeup, therefore, I will speak nothing but the truth because I have come to know that only the truth can free my conscience. Now, let's begin the conversation proper devoid of sentiments or premodia inclination. Against this background, therefore, this open letter is for all the three candidates because I have come to realize that we mere mortals could not predict precisely who becomes our senator in the next political dispensation. Otori Ozigi: Is Yakubu Oseni, A.T. Ahmed Reincarnate?

Image
Arguably, the most illustrious Ebira man that ever lived is late Senator (Engr) A.T. Ahmed of blessed memory. It goes without saying that his death over ten years ago created a big vacuum in the political firmament in Ebiraland. Late A.T.Ahmed remains the greatest man Ebiraland gave to the world. Under the democratic dispensation, no single individual was worthy to step into his big shoes. It appears that we now have a reincarnate of late A.T. Ahmed in the present dispensation. One young man that is worthy to step into A.T. Ahmed's big shoes is Alhaji Yakubu Oseni, the APC senatorial flag bearer from Kogi Central. Arguably, Yakubu Oseni has shown traces of greatness and political sagacity. It is to this end that this writer has considered him worthy to continue where A.T. Ahmed stopped over ten years ago. It is instructive to note that Yakubu Oseni is imbued with intellectual knowledge and wisdom of late A.T. Ahmed. I wish to recall that I am a direct beneficiary of late A. T. A...

Otori Ozigi: Gov Yahaya Bello Has Done Well, He Deserves Second Term in Office

Image
...h e is a silent achiever. For starters, I want to make it abundantly clear that I'm a journalist and PR expert. I don't care whatever anybody calls me because of the position I've taken on the issue of Governor Yahaya's performance in office. Call me any unprintable names, call me a sycophant, or a praise singer or Yahaya Bello apologist; I certainly know who I am. I don't know Yahaya Bello, and I have no intention to meet him. I am an Ebira man to the core, and as a well-cultured man, I can never use my left hand to point to my Father's house. My intention here is to give an objective assessment of Governor Yahaya Bello in office. Having said that, I will be using unassailable facts and figures to buttress every point I make in this write-up. Firstly, on the issue of security, before Governor Yahaya Bello's assumption in office, the entire state was in a state of insecurity. Recall that the issue of kidnapping and other violent crimes was at its peak....
